Eastern Europe Dominates Western Europe

The Eastern European powerhouse Lithuania took down the Western European powerhouse Spain last night destroying them in the second half. With only a six point lead at halftime, Lithuania went on to outscore Spain by 16 and finish with a 94-72 victory.

This twenty-two point W was led by Linas Kleiza, who was just signed by Olympiakos Pierus out in Greece at $12.2M for 2 years. According to EuroBasket.com, both Kleiza & Tomas Delininkaitis scored 19, while Marijonas Petravicius dropped in 14 for Lithuania. Delininkaitis plays for Club Baloncesto Murcia in Spain and Petravicius plays for Armani Jeans Milano in Italy (Alex Acker just signed with them as well).

Spain was led by Marc Gasol’s 15 points and six rebounds and Jorge Garbajosa’ 13. Gasol is currently the starting center on the Memphis Grizzlies and Garbajosa plays for Real Madrid of the Spanish League.
